Does not require a separate ratchet to operate this Roll Groover. The Roll Groover is designed to keep short lengths of pipe upon the rollers without any operator helpance. This model is very lightweight, very compact and can be easily mounted. The Roll Groover’s carriage does not need removing unlike other groovers for installation. The grooves formed in steel pipe by the Wheeler Rex 700640 1 1/4″ – 1 1/2″ Roller Set for the Travel-friendly Roll Groover machines 8400, 8401 & 8402 for steel. The conversion still allows grooves to comply with the specifications required for mechanical coupling systems by forming a self-restraining joint. The grooves made with this Roll Groover in steel pipe when combined with the correct fitting housing make a joint of optimal strength to weight ratio. This resulting join made by the Roll Groover and fitting creates a permanent connection and is capable of withstanding the loads placed upon it up to the maximum rated operating pressure. This Roll Grooving tool rotates steel pipe as the grooving rollers female on the inside of the pipe back the pipe, and the male rollers on the outside impress a groove into the steel pipe. The cold formed groove is now ready for joining to another grooved pipe.
