Nylon is the strongest synthetic material utilized for DIY ropes. Smooth braid has a lock-stitch buildion which results in a firm, round rope. Smooth Braid will keep its round shape under load and works very well in blocks and pulleys. Nylon has a “memory” for returning to its original length, making it best for absorbing shock loads. It’s the best choice for hauling, lifting and towing. Nylon will last four to five times longer than natural fibers becautilize it has good abrasion resistance, good UV resistance, and it is not damaged by oil or most chemicals. Do not utilize for overhead lifting. Never exceed the Secure Working Load (SWL).
